About Me

My Education

I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and while I enjoyed many different forms of art making during my education, painting resonated with me the most. The paintings of Mark Rothko and Helen Frankenthaler inspired the beginning of my painting career. Their ability to let the viewer create their own narritive about a painting opened my eyes to the strengths of abstract painting.

My Style

While I certainly will make figurative paintings now and then, most of my works are abstract color fields that explore color contrast, texture, atmosphere and hopefully, for the viewer, inspire thoughts of spaces both imagined and real.

My Goals

I am hoping to create bright artwork that people want to fill their homes and workspaces with. Pieces that can be appreciated in the background but also have enough depth and variety that a viewer can find new elements to appreciate each time they look at them.
